You inspired me to try chebe. I definitely noticed that it locked the moisture in my braids and my hair was easier to detangle. I have two small children so sometimes I can’t give my hair the attention I’m used to. So this is a big deal that I hope to keep using.

I have come to say I agree with Every. Single. Point. you’ve addressed here. Every single point. I started my chebe journey June 6th it hasn’t even been a month and I’ve experienced less shedding, elongated curls (but like you said after washing my curls come right back) moisturized hair, and my hair is a lot thicker. I couldn’t believe it so I went back to my initial video I took of my braids and my latest video and compared the two and it’s evident. Sent both to my family and they couldn’t believe it either. I use the powder and keep my hair wrapped up. I wish there was a way I could share my videos/pictures on UA-cam

I'm going to start making a list, this is a great tip. I pack like you but I wrap my shoes in a plastic bag so they don't soil my clothes. I also put any liquids in a ziplock bag, like lotion, perfumes, toiletries...etc.

Responding to some comments: I can't understand how some people thinks that their race owns a certain type of oil which comes from a herb that exists in every place on earth. If a white owned company made its products to only white people then black people loved it and tried it then the company dropped a specific product which swits them, then the white people complained "black people stole OUR product!! I'm going to spend my money only on white owned company who sell their products only to my race!!" How is that? Is that ok? No. Why I find some people offended that people from another race are buying a product which is black owned ? Why can't everyone be happy and relaxed ? This is a success to the black owner you should be proud of the owner. The company didn't change the original formula they dropped another one. Congrats for the company they won new customers and kept their old ones.

I'm 100% in! I so over the tasteless nakedness everywhere. There nothing like a woman with class & grace. As an african woman born in NYC and raised in Africa, it's amazing to me how American women seems to not value their bodies at all! Count me in!

Mya, I have been using the grease for a month and agree with all the things you have said. My hair does not shed or break as much as it did. It is thicker, the ends are thicken. I blow dry my hair for length then apply the grease. I am loving the journey this far. My the way your hair looks great

I was hoping you would address the differences/preferences of the powder vs the grease so thank you! The white dress is so lovely and feminine. Also, I don't know how you feel about any Christian beliefs but recently I learned that it is against God's will for us to cut our hair.(Absolam, Samson, etc) There are a lot of ladies with the same length as you and they do not cut their hair anymore, citing that the 'box cut' ends are simply what the "industry" suggests for us. Just food for thought. I am going to do both the powder and the grease.

I'm curious how much you think the finger detangling had to do with the decreased shedding. I always notice my hair appears to shed less if I finger detangle, but that's because I have a hard time getting the shed hair that is sitting at the roots. That white dress is STUNNING and your hair looks so good. Growing so fast too!! Glad to hear that this chebe journey is working out for you. <3

I don’t recall how many inches you cut off in Jania’s but to say that your hair has now return to the length it was before cutting it in January is amazing! Also, thank you for this thorough breakdown and consistency. I have ordered the chebe grease, the powder and ambunu leaves. I plan on starting this journey as soon as I get the much needed cut in a couple of weeks. Your videos will be heavily viewed on repeat to keep me motivated lol. Thank you. Oh and one last thing, I apologize in advance if you mentioned this already but we’re you able to notice an immediate difference with shedding/breakage when you used the grease?

If shedding in a natural internal process, what do you think is the mechanism of action? How would applying something to your hair strands impact the internal process of shedding? I’m curious.

I’ve worn my hair in box braids for the first six months of the year (finishing up my masters and I didn’t want to deal with it) and two days ago I finally took them out and tried to do a flexi rod set and it turned out terribly 😂. But it gave my hair a really good stretch. So yesterday I tried twists on stretched hair for the first time and I’m in love! My hair is soft and moisturized and I love how fluffy the twists are. Plus I don’t have to worry about tangling or SSN as much. I think I might adopt your stretched hair routine.

I'm looking forward to the 6 months update 👀 I was curious about the chebe powder but was very reluctant on giving it a go as its more work than my actual routine which is just washing my hair with a sulfate free shampoo, detangling, applying aloe vera pulp and glicerin mixture and then sealing that in with an oil before braiding my hair. Curiously enough, I find that we seem to have the same results/benefits with totally different routines
